The home of Two Birds Brewing, affectionately called ‘The Nest’ is located in Melbourne at 136 Hall Street, Spotswood and is an easy 5 min (450m) walk from Spotswood Train Station.
The Nest is open to the public 4 days a week, and here you will find fresh beer on tap, amazing food, takeaway growlers & squealers (these are containers not grumpy kids), the full bottle range and Two Birds Brewing merchandise!
As independent brewers, having a home that is part of the local community is important to us and something we are proud to share with our flock. The Two Birds do love to chatter as well, so when you visit, make sure you also join in on a brewery tour where you can learn more about their beers and Brewing Philosophies.
There is so much to love about The Nest, so why not drop in some time!
Want to bring the kids with you? No problem! Please just ensure you’re across our Two Birds Children on Premises Policy so everyone can have a safe and enjoyable time!
Our state of the art brewhouse has been designed in Canada and is definitely worth a visit. We also have our very own bottling line, tasting room and serve fantastic food. So if you want an ‘authentic’ but relaxed brewery experience why not take flight to ‘The Nest’ and see what is on offer. Tours and times book out quickly so hit the button below to book your place.
Our brewhouse is a 2 vessel 1800L DME system, designed in Canada. It has a combined Mash/Lauter Tun and combined direct fired gas Kettle/Whirlpool. We have 4 double-sized (4000L) fermenters, 6 quad sized fermenters (8000L), 4 bright beer tanks, and a pilot plant. If that’s all gibberish to you, all you really need to know is that the equipment makes good beer, is super easy to use and most importantly, it’s shiny. Also, one of our quad fermenters holds about 24,242 bottles of brewery fresh beer!
Interested in learning more about Craft Beer? We’re now running tours at “The Nest” to help with your beer education! It’s $20/head for the tour, which lasts about 45 mins to 1hr, and includes a tasting session of our 4 regular beers (~150ml pour each). Tours are limited to groups 10 people, and we run tours every Saturday at 12:30pm.
Bookings essential and must be made a week in advance. Get down to The Nest this weekend!
“The Nest”- Brewery and Tasting Room is the home of Two Birds Brewing. The Nest is housed in a 900 square metre warehouse, that once made beer cans back in the mid 1900’s. The facade is heritage listed and features the sign from the original owners of the site, W.G. GOETZ & SONS.
The Tasting Room area that is open to the public, spans across the cosy inside front room and out into sun drenched brewery. It comfortably seats 90 and is open 4 days a week, offering all kinds of beverages (not just beer!), tasty food and a warm, casual atmosphere. Stay for 1 drink or settle in for a session.
The Nest is also available for functions and happy to cater for groups, so please get in touch.

Feel the Burn
Brewed with fresh ginger, Feel the Burn has a big upfront hit of the stuff. Hints of lemon and sweet malts keep things refreshing before a fiery finish. Feel the burn!
An ode to old school aussie slang, this sherbet pours a beautiful reddish-copper, it’s silky smooth toffee malt body leading way to all American resinous hops Chinook, Simcoe and Columbus.
You know what isn’t surprising. That so many badass women work in beer. Know what is? This Berry Sour Stout, our new collaboration made with a crew of beer babes from the Pink Boots Society. Bringing a chocolatey, malt rich stout to life with blackberries and blackcurrants, Pucker Up has been kettle soured for a dark berry tartness that’s sure to catch you off guard.
Brewed just in time for Oktoberfest celebrations, Märzen Attacks is inspired by the traditional beer style – Marzen/Marzenbier. Our take has a lighter malt body and lower ABV – but is proudly brewed with classic noble hop variety, Tettnang and Munich malts for subtle caramel notes, herbal characters and a touch of bitterness.
Flight of Freyja
Our collaboration with Tandem Bar is brewed with whole blood oranges to create a tangy, full bodied New England India Pale Lager.
Imperial Black Rhino
Because we love long days and short shorts, we dreamed up a beer to capture the essence of the warmer months – a Passionfruit Summer Ale. Pale and hazy like balmy arvos, this Summer Ale uses the tropical fruit hop trio of Amarillo, Mosaic and Galaxy with passionfruit puree added to the fermenter.
It tastes like sunshine and is best enjoyed in a hammock. Or a tent. Or at a festival. Or at a BBQ, Or in a beer garden. As if you needed an excuse.
We have a high pressure filler that allows us to fill Growlers (1.89L) and Squealers (1L), which are glass vessels, so you can enjoy brewery fresh beer at home. We have special sized kegs just for this system, so the beers available for takeaway can be different to what’s on tap. Our current beers to take home can be found below.
- Chew Tang Can
- Sundaze Sippah
- Fruit Tang Can
- Purple Reign
Chew Tang Can
Fruit Tang Can
Pouring a beautiful bright, dark purple and smelling of rich berries, our Purple Reign Imperial Gose is a kettle sour, jam packed with a queen sized order of the juiciest blackcurrants we could find. The traditional 8th birthday gift of salt provided the ruling for this years beer style with a balanced tartness allowing the deep, berry richness to reign supreme.
We’ll celebrate turning 8 in royal fashion and at 8% ABV, it’s one to savour in your kingdom.
We’re busily working away to enrich your experience at The Nest, so join our Frequent Flyer Program and work towards free refills of Two Birds goodness.
